Academy of Active Citizenship

With support from the USAID Civil Society Engagement Program, the student initiative group Active Citizenship Academy is implementing a project aimed at encouraging students to become active citizens in their university and society.

At the start of the project, a group of students from Tbilisi State University (TSU) were selected through an open competition to participate in weekly information meetings and trainings about the opportunities available at the university, the importance of civic engagement, and EU-Georgia relations. During these sessions, students had the opportunity to explore a number of tools and opportunities, including how to write a project proposal and the specifics of submitting a project to the university, exchange programs outside the university, student involvement in the university management process, and the importance of student initiatives and civic activism. The trainings and meetings were led by civic activists, TSU graduates, and representatives of academia.
