Information Platform Dopomoga Ukraini Wins Award for Helping Ukrainians in Georgia

In February, the information platform Dopomoga Ukraini was awarded the Guardians of History Award from the European Union’s representation in Georgia for its contributions in fighting Russian disinformation, increasing Georgian solidarity with Ukraine, and strengthening resilience during the war.

Dopomoga Ukraini was created shortly after the start of the war in Ukraine, and for two years, it has provided Ukrainians in Georgia with information on important topics, including medical services, legal aid, accommodation assistance, education, psychological services, and employment opportunities. The platform combines a website with Instagram, Telegram, and Facebook pages as well as a Facebook group.

Since its launch, the platform has operated with support from the USAID Civil Society Engagement Program and has individually assisted more than 1,300 Ukrainians in accessing services and information. More than 1,500 pieces of information have been published on Dopomoga Ukraini’s various pages, and the organization has created practical guidebooks and information videos offering tips and instructions on how to access available services.

The  content of the platform has also been refined over time to better suit the evolving needs of Ukrainians; it first addressed the immediate needs of Ukrainians in the early days of the war and now focuses on promoting their integration into Georgian society. In recent months, the platform has featured the work of Ukrainian entrepreneurs in Georgia and highlighted the efforts of Georgian volunteers helping Ukrainians in Georgia.

The USAID Civil Society Engagement Program congratulates Dopomoga Ukraini on this award and wishes it continued success in its future.
