Capacity Development Assistance Program for Georgian CSOs has started!

In order to enhance effectiveness of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Georgia and help their transition into sustainable organizations, the EWMI ACCESS with its partner Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC) provides a wide range of tailored capacity development assistance to Georgian CSOs. In November, 2016, seven CSOs were selected through the open competition to participate in the next round of the CSO Capacity Development Assistance Program, including: Democracy Institute (Batumi), SIQA (Rustavi), Georgian Democracy Initiative (Tbilisi), Women’s Initiative Supportive Group (WISG) (Tbilisi). Orbeliani Georgia (Tbilisi), Iare Pekhit (Tbilisi), and First Step Georgia.

From December 2016, CTC will work closely with the selected organizations to identify their key strengths and weaknesses and deliver up-to 5-month intensive consultations and mentoring tailored to individual needs of each organization. This is a participatory learning process allowing beneficiary CSOs to set priorities together with CTC and work towards filling the gaps and implementing the Capacity Development Plan.

The Capacity Development Assistance Program is announced twice a year and is open to all interested organizations. Since its launch 15 organizations have benefited from the program.

This program, along with other CSO capacity-building initiatives implemented by ACCESS, strives to contribute to ACCESS’s overall Goal – building institutionally strong and sustainable cadre of CSOs in Georgia.
