Presentation of the Research Findings on Media Independence and Transparency in Georgia

On June 14, at 11:00 a.m., at Tbilisi Marriott Hotel, the EWMI ACCESS grantees – Transparency International Georgia (TI-Georgia), Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association (GYLA) and Media Development Foundation (MDF) will hold a joint conference to present research findings on various aspects of the media independence and transparency.

The conference will cover the following topics:

• Recent trends in media advertisement industry – TI-Georgia
• International and Georgian practices and regulations concerning TV rating systems and auditing of TV rating companies – Georgian Young Lawyers Association (GYLA)
• Trends of distribution of public funds to media organizations and its impact on media content and independence – The Media Development Foundation (MDF)

Follow-up discussions will be held after presentations. The event will last till 15:00.
