On August 18, the USAID Civil Society Engagement Program announced a call for applications for civic activists and initiative groups in the field of arts and culture to attend a four-day training on nonviolent and creative strategies and forms of civic activism. The course is delivered by a Belgrade-based organization CANVAS (Center for Applied Nonviolent Action and Strategies), which has over 20 years of experience in training and mentoring pro-democracy activists in more than 50 countries.
At the training, which will take place from September 26-29, participants will learn about nonviolent methods of civic activism, self-organization, and mobilization of supporters. Beyond theoretical discussions, the participants will work on their practical assignments, including drafting action plans for their own campaigns. After the initial training course, participants will receive consultation and mentorship from experts to successfully implement their initiatives and disseminate their new skills to a wider audience.
Interested applicants can submit an application form (in Georgian) until September 8, 2023.
