From September 17 to 22, the Civil Development Agency (CiDA) and member organizations of the Regional Civil Society Network are holding a wide-scale civic engagement campaign “Clean Air, Safe Traffic” in 13 cities of Georgia to raise public awareness about air pollution and road safety issues in the country. The campaign envisions awareness-raising seminars with local residents and drivers, as well as organizing a “car-free” day in the central part of Tbilisi to focus public attention on air quality and promote a healthy way of life. The Georgian Alliance for Safe Roads, a leading CSO from Tbilisi working on road safety issues, and APM Terminals Poti (Poti Sea Port Corporation) will deliver training for Civil Society Organizations on these issues. The campaign will be held financial support from EWMI ACESS.
