Carried out in 2019, the Georgian Civil Society Assessment initiative was launched by EWMI ACCESS and Center for Training and Consultancy (CTC).
The study assesses the state of civil society in Georgia since the change of government in 2012 until late 2018. More specifically, it looks at the CSO performance against four areas: public trust and legitimacy, influence over policies, sustainability and viability, and inter-sectoral cooperation. The study uses a mixed method approach: extensive desk review, targeted semi-structured interviews and interactive workshops with representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs), academia, business, and media outlets.
The study was carried out by the research team headed by Dr. Bakur Kvashilava, Dean of School of Law and Politics at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).
