The youth activist group 27+1, with support from the USAID Civil Society Engagement Program carried out an information campaign supporting Georgia’s integration with the European Union.
Within the scope of the project, EU-themed discussions and trivia nights were held in Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kvareli, Telavi, Gori, Zugdidi, Gurjaani and Tsnori. The nights explored topics of particular interest for the youth, including European politics, sports and culture. A video of the trivia night in Gori is available here.
At the end of the project, an EU festival was held on August 30 in Tsnori’s Knowledge Café, an alternative social and education space. The attending young people played board games, watch film “Europe and I” and took part in discussions.
The project team designed and distributed via social media information cards on the assistance the EU provides to Georgia and on the benefits of membership. In addition, videos were created to depict European experience of dealing with issues that are of importance to the Georgian society today, including employment, labor rights and school meals.
