The Leadership Academy for Development – executive-level training program for government officials, business and CSO Leaders

Leadership Academy for Development (LAD) is an executive-level training program for government officials and business sector leaders from developing countries to help the private sector be a constructive force for economic growth and development. LAD was co-founded by Stanford University’s Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law (CDDRL) and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). In partnership with Tbilisi-based Think Tank – Economic Policy Research Center (EPRC) the CDDRL will hold a 5-day intensive training workshop on “The Role of Public Policy in Private Sector Development” during January 18-22, 2016. The program will teach selected participants (public, private and CSO leaders) how to be effective reform leaders promoting sound public policies in complex and contentious settings. CDDRL Director, Francis Fukuyama of Stanford University and Professor Alan Trager of Johns Hopkins SAIS will lead the workshop.
The LAD program in Georgia is being implemented with the financial support of EWMI ACCESS and the Good Governance Initiative in Georgia (GGI) and is free for participants. The program will host 25 participants (15 from Georgia and 10 from other developing countries).
