Partnership Fair for CSOs and Businesses

Partnership Fair for CSOs and Businesses

On November 29, Global Compact Network Georgia (GCNG) organized a Partnership Fair, which created a space for businesses and civil society organizations (CSOs) to meet and explore potential partnerships. With the support of the USAID Civil Society Engagement Program, the event was held on Giving Tuesday, a global movement that encourages people across the world to donate to charity, collaborate for a good cause, and celebrate generosity.

In the first part of the event, attendees highlighted the benefits of cross-sectoral collaboration and spoke about challenges and opportunities in creating sustainable cooperation. Several CSOs spoke about their positive experiences cooperating with the private sector and invited the business community to join them in their efforts. Supergmiri made a persuasive case for supporting underprivileged children; Educare Georgia showed its state-of-the-art platform that helps children in remote areas get access to the internet; Dopomoga Ukraini (a Facebook Group and a website) made a case of its ability to sustain ongoing support to Ukrainian citizens in Georgia; and Orbeliani Georgia presented its crowdfunding platform that enables every citizen to make a financial contribution to small-scale social projects around the country.

The second part of the event had a CSO2B networking area and an Idea Pitch area, where CSOs had the opportunity to individually present their project ideas to businesses and explore opportunities for cooperation. At the end of the event, five businesses committed 31,000 GEL to support 10 civic initiatives.
