General Assembly of the Regional Civil Society Network (R-CSN)

On December 18 and 19, CiDA, with the support from EWMI ACCESS, organized the Regional Civil Society Network’s (R-CSN) general annual assembly. R-CSN is the largest regional CSO network in Georgia, with 69 member organizations.  Members share resources with one other, conduct joint projects, and pursue nationwide campaigns. The RCSN was established in December, 2012 with CiDA and ACCESS support. This year the Network marked its 5th anniversary.

At the General Annual Assembly, Network members reviewed their activities, identified key priorities for strengthening the Network, and accepted new members. The participating CSOs also discussed the joint projects and campaigns implemented over the past year (the campaign to identify women voters’ needs in Georgia’s regions, evaluation of the new civil service code, and awareness-raising campaign on visa-free travel to the EU). Representatives of international organizations also attended the assembly and spoke about the role and importance of a strong Civil Society sector for Georgia’s development.

Apart from the CSO Transparency Award, the R-CSN Board awarded the most active members of the network for their contribution to the development of the Network and active engagement in joint campaigns. CiDA will continue to coordinate the Network’s activities and support its enhancement in the coming year.
