On July 5, 6 and 7 EWMI ACCESS organized working meetings between donor organizations and regional CSOs in Telavi, Rustavi, Marneuli, and Gori. Purpose of the meetings was to talk about the donor priorities, grant programs and grant-giving approaches; also to discuss key concerns and shortcomings of the project proposals submitted by regional CSOs and provide consultations to interested CSOs how to improve their project proposals to make it eligible for funding.
Meetings also allowed the participating regional CSOs to ask questions about donors’ approaches and share their thoughts regarding the donor activities in their respective regions and the country as whole. Meeting participants also discussed possible ways for simplifying donor requirements and grant-giving procedures to make more CSOs eligible for grant funding.
Representatives of the following organizations participated in the meetings: EWMI ACCESS, Europe Fund, Kvina Till Kvina, Swiss Cooperation and Development Office in South Caucasus, and Orbeliani Georgia.
It was the first time when leading donor organizations traveled together in regions of Georgia to help regional CSOs improve their project proposals and increase chances of funding, that would ultimately enable regional CSOs to better address main public concerns and problems at the local level and get closer with the population.
