As Georgia heads into the October 31 Parliamentary elections, EWMI ACCESS invites Georgian civil society organizations (CSOs) from Tbilisi and the regions to apply for Election Rapid Response Grants to act on urgent, time-sensitive opportunities, challenges, and/or needs related to the elections. These grants are designed to enable organizations to address issues that are of vital importance to the public and Georgia’s democratic consolidation. Applications must clearly articulate the immediate need for funds and must demonstrate that the issue, situation, or opportunity is urgent and that the intervention must happen quickly to be effective.

Act Now / Election Rapid Response Grants can be:

  • An emergency grant, requested to respond to an immediate risk/challenge/need requiring swift attention; or
  • An opportunity grant, requested to take advantage of a unique and timely opportunity arising from the elections.

Organizations may apply for Act Now / Election Rapid Response Grants on a rolling basis, provided that funds are still available. Considering the urgency of the issue/intervention, the grant applications will be processed quickly – within 3 to 7 days – however, EWMI ACCESS encourages applicants to plan ahead and apply at least 10 days before they need the funds.

The Act Now / Election Rapid Response Grants program will not fund:

  • Ongoing projects/activities;
  • Bridge/gap funding;
  • Projects/activities that duplicate existing initiatives; or
  • Retrospective expenses.

Applications must be submitted electronically in English or Georgian to grants@ewmi.org. Application forms can be downloaded from the link below. Emails must have ELECTION RAPID RESPONSE GRANT in the subject line.

Questions and requests for clarifications should be sent to Manana Tatishvili, EWMI ACCESS Public Outreach and M&E Specialist, at mtatishvili@ewmi.org. EWMI ACCESS will respond to questions/clarification requests within 48 hours.
